Detailed map of GwynnethMoonshae IslesEach of you have come to Gwynneth for the first time, coming ashore in Caer Corwell. This is clearly an old city. A 20ft tall stone wall with moss growing in most of the cracks surrounds the city. Though there are some wooden structures, most of the city appears to be built from the same stone with moss and lichen. It is not a large city, but it is still the capital of Gwynneth. Overlooking the city is a castle outside the walls of the city. It is surrounded by its own separate wall up on a hill. Most of the people dress in simple tunics and dresses in greens and browns. They appear to be a happy people, going about their jobs with a smile for friends and strangers alike. Many people offer greetings as you pass.
Signy, you notice people step widely around you, though this is nothing new to you. The city watch keeps a close eye on you wherever you go and occasionally inquire about your business. While the Ffolk are typically wary of Northmen, you think perhaps your Northman accent may help you here. They don't seem to know quite what you are, but they accept your answers.
Sunny, you also find the people here are cautious of you, but you seem like more of a novelty than something to fear. They recognize you as a dwarf, of course, and there are a few others in the city. None seem to look like permanent residents, though. There are quite a few halflings, though.
After walking through the city for a few hours, you notice a feeling through the soles of your shoes. It is almost like a pulse in the earth itself. Once you've become aware of it, the sensation quickly grows. This place is different from any place you've been before, as though there is a life to the land itself. The pulse is a wonderful feeling to all of you. It is not centered on good nor evil, nor law or chaos. It is simply peace, though you wonder how anyone could function with this strong of a sense of peace and life. A passing woman carrying a large basket sees the expression on your face, Yenreb, and smiles and says "an Awakening. Isn't it wonderful? Don't worry, you'll get accustomed to it."
After several more hours of the sensation, you do adjust to it. You can still feel the pulse, it is more of a background sensation. You find it easier to relax here, and you understand why so many people seem content here.
In the early evening of the 10th day of Kythorn, there is some commotion originating from the castle. Soldiers run every which way, though none announce what is happening. Shortly, a curfew is imposed and you are all returned to your inns. Still, no word of what has happened.
By mid morning, heralds run to through the city to deliver this short message. "All adventurers and all able-bodied men without steady employment are required to report to the First Market two hours before noon." As the time approaches, you all head to the center market in the city. There you see several guards and watchmen around a small platform.
A man in a well made green tunic and red cloak stands on the platform. He looks to be in his mid 30s, and clearly is a man of some significance here. Once everyone has assembled, approximately 40 people, he speaks. His voice is heavy and tired, and you notice from his eyes that he does not appear to have slept much.
For those of you who do not know me, I am Colywn Malone, steward of Caer Corwell. I have horrible news. Last night, Prince Rayan was attacked by an assassin. He has survived, but he is not well. The weapon was poisoned. The best healers have told me it is no ordinary poison. It clearly has a magical component that is beyond their ability to heal. They have managed to hold the poison at bay, though we do not know for how long. The Earthmother has told them they will need Silver Dew to remove the poison. Sadly, we do not know what this is, and further attempts of divination have revealed nothing. Prince Rayan rests under heavy guard set by General Oran Robinson. Meanwhile, it is up to use to find his cure. That is why you are here. I do not like to do this, but you are all required to aid us in this.
You will be broken into several groups, each under the command of a trusted solder of Gwynneth. Search far and wide. Find information, look everywhere. If you learn anything, send word immediately. If we learn anything from another group, we will send word to the cities and towns in Gwynneth. You will be paid a half silver a day. There will of course be a large bonus for anyone finding this Silver Dew. We do not know how long the Prince will last. We have sent word to High Queen Alicia, but we cannot wait. We have tracked the assassin as much as we could, but our efforts were hampered by the new moon. His trail appeared to ended in the forest. Our best and brightest are pouring over all our texts to learn more, but aside from that you are our only hope.
You men there, he says pointing to what is clearly an adventuring party, go with Alban to the Llyrath forest. A soldier steps forward. And you, go with Owen to the Eastern Runs. There in the back, go with Shane to Drakesland. He points to clearly an experienced adventuring party and says Go with Fergus to Myrloch Vale. Please, take care. And you there, he says pointing to you and a wiry man, clearly of the ffolk, go with Ronald to Cantrev Kilmaron and the Kinclaven Forest. The Earthmother be with you, and with our prince. Thank you.He leaves the stage as a tall man with blond hair and a beard steps forward. He is solidly built, and he immediately commands respect. He wears a chain shirt with forest green cloak. The cloak bears a wolfs head on green emblem, which represents Caer Corwell and is the sign of all officers of the army. His brown boots complete the look of the soldier and outdoorsman. He says to you "Greetings. I am Lieutenant Ronald Walsh. I hope I can count on all of you in this dark hour. I understand this situation is not something any of us like, but we must do our best. Please, tell me your names and what I can expect from each of you."
After brief introductions, Ronald said simply "We have no time to lose. Please meet back here in two hours and we will set out."

Shortly thereafter, the newly formed party set out for Gammonsfield. It became obvious that this town was primarily centered on growing grapes and making wine. Though there was clearly money in this land, they seem to have little to fear. There is no wall around the town and few guards or town watch. The short fellow played a bit of dice successfully at the Gilded Grape Inn, where the party stayed, and the Cat and Bagpipes. The Gilded Grape was a bit of a refined place for the wealthier members, and the Cat and Bagpipes was a bit more lively. The wizardly fellow ensured that short fellow made a small profit. Liam the rogue helped himself to the coins of a few passing strangers as well.
The next morning the party returned to the North Firth road for Case Danskine. Camped along the road overnight they encountered a pair of bugbears that did not realize they were overmatched. Quickly dispatching the foes, the party returned to sleep for a few short hours before resuming their march.
Caer Danskine is clearly a city of lumber. Wooden walls and gates guard this major port. The part split up to visit the Blade and Tackle (owned by a large jolly fellow names Tarlach), the Oak Bucket, and the Holly Keel. They also spoke with an old librarian named Gordon who told them of the plant called Silverthorn, though unlikely to be the same thing. The priest visited the temple of Chauntea and met with a young priest named Conor. Conor talked about the druids and how they did not stay in one place for long. The party learned rumors that a priest of Bane had been chased out of town recently, that some sort of bug or plague was attacking trees and the druids had not done anything about it, and that Lady Eilinora may be having an affair with the captain of the guard.
Resuming the trail northward, the party noticed again the pulse of this beautiful land. They each seemed to associate more with some aspect of the elements here, some associating more with the sun on their faces, some with the wind in their hair, and some by the earth beneath their feet, and some by the rain falling on their faces. No matter their preference, they all find a new respect for the flora and fauna here.
Shortly thereafter, the mood turned dark. They happened upon the hamlet of Longford. It was a small village, but not it had been burned to the ground. There was a battle, but one sided. Everyone was slaughtered. Following a path into the forest, the party came upon a grove of oak, ash, and holly. Mistletoe hung from the trees. They found a massive ring of stones with a clear pool in the center. A druid, later identified as Jarlath, was found laying dead with an axe in his back. It looked as though he were crawling toward the pool. There was also a footstep found coming out of the Moonwell.
Darker still, later that night Yenrab woke as if he has been drugged. Liam was gone. Lieutenant Ronald Walsh of the City Watch of Caer Corwell was also found slain on that morning of the 16th day of Kythorn. His purse was unfortunately gone as well. The party, obeying the orders should something happen to him, continued on with their mission.
Pushing north, a bit more sadly than before, the party entered the Pass of Emerald. Sparkling green walls were beautiful, but a prime location for an ambush, which was exactly what they found. Faking a broken wagon, a group of bandits sprung a trap. Unfortunately for them, the party was better at fighting, even without weapons in one short case. Now with a prisoner, a wagon, and an old horse named Kirby, the party resumed their march north.
After leaving the Emerald Pass, they hear sounds of battle. They run to find Northmen chasing a druid and wolves. They help chase off the Northmen and the druid tells them what he knows. His name is Cathal Griffin, and he is the druid responsible for this area. He says he saw the Northmen chasing the wolves, and he made the mistake of running in to thick of it. The wolves turned and found to defend the druid, even though he was not at risk. He turned a chase into a fight by simply being there. The Northmen claimed the wolves attacked their villages, but Cathal doesn't understand how that's even possible.
Once the party explains their quest, Cathal offers to introduce them to a wise druid named Monroe Tyrell. First, however, they head to Cantrev Kilmaron. On the night of the solstice, Cathal took part in a small personal ceremony for the passing Solstice. This cantrev cuts some trees for its own use, but not for export. The walls are made from stone, probably due to the proximity of the Northmen. There are also more soldiers here than might be expected based on the town's size. A solid keep occupies the center of the town. That said, there is some Northmen blood here as the peoples have not been completely separate from each other.
The party learns that crazed Northmen may have escaped their prison on Oman's Island and stolen a longboat. No one seems to know where they are nor how many there may be. The king of Oman's Island is sick, and his son does not approve of being a vassal of a Ffolk Queen. It's also said the northmen have been cutting down excessive forest and hunting animals for sport.
In the morning the party started two more days of hard travel to arrive in the Green Heart. Moving from a forest of Silver Birch, Wild Cherry, and Yew into one also including Oak and Ash, the trees became much more dense as well. They could sense an extra strength of the Green Heart, and they understood why the druids would want to make this their home.
They met Monroe Tyrell, the leader of the Brethren of Autumn. Also there were Kalina Yomaris and Darnell Korrigan. The Brethren is a small group of people devoted to protecting the land. Monroe has a touch of green to his hair and skin. He listens to their story, and he suspects someone may have been dishonest. He has never heard of Silver Dew, and suspects something more simple may cure the prince. He cannot be sure, but he thinks the party should investigate things more in Caer Corwell.
Then the party discovered their DM does not like 1st level players and gave them a lot of XP. They should not get used to it. They spent two days training in the Green Heart.
