I was looking at some save DCs on the plane, and I've come to the conclusion that you guys shouldn't roll low. I'm not saying you need to roll a bunch of 15s to survive, but if you pull out a bunch of 3s and 8s in a series, you will all die.
JUST A WARNING

We're also not heroes if we're dead.

Now I just keep picturing real heroes stumbling across two normal, one slender, one stout, and one tiny skeleton... and then an inspirational speech about Chester Copperpot. Honestly, I'm touched.
FWIW, Alenka and Rigby have had a "Come to baby Henaro" meeting in the Rope Trick. Rigby is beginning to doubt whether he can really blame the urban sprawl of humanity and all of its sins on a member or two of its race. He's also picturing himself as Q in Encounter at Farpoint, so who knows?

In the rope trick, Morgim's analysis of the weapons he has just seen lead to the following conclusions:
1)- All the ones of a type seem to be meant to be the same. They fall short of this goal- each has its own imperfections. 2)- All are in some amount of disrepair- this is likely why they were used as part of a blockade. 3)- They are wielded by humanoid shaped aberration. 4)- The ideal height to use all the weapons is moderately close- from about five foot four to six foot two. 5)- Most of the weapons appear to be polearms. 6)- The weapons are made out of a different form of steel than you are used to. It doesn't seem better than local steel, but has a different grain and comes from a different place. 7)- The barricade was put together intelligently. These creatures are either experts at cobbling together barricades, or individually very intelligent.

We could try, set off the trap, fight some ghostly kobolds or something, and fail.
But if we never try, we never fail. I say we pick the low hanging fruit.

First, there is a stairway going up, and these weapons of which you speak were used to block the stairway, right? At some point, some creatures formed a barricade out of these weapons? Question about 3) I assume you mean "Based on the design, you assume these weapons were intended to be wielded by humanoid shaped aberrations"....? Right? There are no actual humanoid shaped aberrations around here, right? So... we have humanish size and shape aberrations that prefer polearms and are crafty. BTW, my first thought is that we should not be caught without Warp Wood, but beyond that....hmm....

Here's a tip - If these "aberrations" a fucking Mind Flayers, be prepared for an assault on your position. The vanguard will be hurled dice to confuse your defense, and the main assault will be every D&D book in the room.

I decided to use this thread because it reminded of what a schmuck the DM can be and I didn't want to muddy up the gaming times thread.
First, I WANT RECAP, LOOT LIST, KOBOLD MOUNTAIN THINGY, ET CETERA!!!!!
Second, for those of you who may be aware, the quest of dear, cuddly Rigby has largely been to regain his inherent quality of goodness which was robbed from him through years of slavery. He has recently made great strides in not wanting to kill most humans on sight and perhaps does not even blame Alenka personally for his woes anymore. In this light, during this training session he has made the transition from neutral with good tendencies to good with neutral tendencies. Presumably his gray robe is a bit lighter now, though whether that will involve an exchange at the Robe Store with a restocking fee or just the same robe will transition nicely will be up to the aforementioned schmuck. Rigby will remain, of course, one seriously chaotic SOB, though. It's not like his manners will improve either. Just less stealing from those who don't really deserve it. And maybe not rationalizing some actions with "It's not like he was immortal anyway."
Third, I really want a familiar.

I thought it was clearer, but I'll be blunt:
Good aligned characters don't lie about the price of paintings to their friends, profit from it, and merrily skip away, feeling no guilt and no shame, but merely a pleasant feeling of satisfaction for having pulled a fast one over on the only friends he has on the entire continent, whom he shares numerous goals with. What you did was entirely in character... but not for chaotic good. Fess up in game, and you'll get your white robes.

You were serious about dat?I'm going to disagree with your assessment. I shall list my reasons. You can make this email or on here if you want. We have about a month to work it out... -I'm not coming to Jesus, nor am I applying to be a paladin. I'm trying to imagine the tear-filled meeting where I say I'm so sorry, and it just doesn't fit with being CG, being a pixie, or being an asshole. -This was not an event that happened because I was drunk, emotionally distressed, or otherwise mentally incapacitated. It was, at the time, what the pixie believed to be the right course of action. The party was firmly resolved to making an irrational decision, and they deserved to lose a little money because of it. They still got their ultimate wish. The alignment change is that going forward the pixie would not make the same decision, but only because he's generally feeling a little kinder towards the mortals. Again, he did not read a holy book and suddenly understand his actions were wrong... he's just thinking maybe some of these people aren't so bad afterall. So with a gradual change of alignment... would someone really apologize for actions that seemed perfectly appropriate at the time? Particularly when it will make his only friends angry with him? I just don't think so. -I admit, the pixie probably felt a little bad (by the same amount that I don't do math in my head very quickly). As such, I did a little atonement already. First for the elf. I bought him the Medusa bow. Once it was discovered it wasn't quite as good as his current bow, I encouraged him to sell it and use the money to upgrade his current bow. Then I robbed some schmuck in Queris and, rather than sell all the items for which I had no personal use, I gave them to the group. I don't recall exactly what they were, but I know I gave something to the dwarf. Party thieves aren't usually well known for sharing their proceeds with the party. Personal risk, personal gain. So this really qualified as more than sufficient atonement for any potential slight.

I will also point out that I spent 3000gp on scrolls because someone decided "sure, let's change the rules so you can fail on a caster level check on a 1" at the last second.

Yes, but that was pure genius at work. A houserule working against you doesn't impact your alignment. Houserules are meant to make the game better, not to screw you over. If they DO screw you over, then that's just bonus lol.

My point, Monseigneur de'la'Douche, was that I have spent a lot of money on the rest of the party. This is probably largely due to having more money than the rest of the party, but I think I've even chipped in to help buy a tura gem or something for Alenka. I have more than repaid the debt even if I have no interest in confessing it. Everyone gets to buy stuff that ends up being used for the group... I think I've done far more than my fair share, though.
My soul is prepared. How's yours, Dr Jones?

I think he weaseled his way out of telling the truth, sadly. He is correct that he's been acting chaotic good for some time, though it is his will to change that is going to make the switch (his CG actions aren't enough to just outright yank him upwards so quickly).
