No, that was Ventrashaam, the summoner. Rooshcalloun is a child you met on the first adventure.

Ok, back to it!

It has been 14 minutes since Rim Thul fell dead at your feet. You have discovered two passageways, and gathered some loot, and made some changes to the environs, as discussed above. What is your next thing?

Getting irritated with you. I have a bad feeling you're going to make us use two scrolls of teleport. Dick.

Explore the passageways. Ensure we have everything we want to take with us ready to go at all times.

Alenka will search for secret doors, traps, etc... in the passage ways.

The hatch is not trapped, nor locked. Sticking reasonably close together, you go down the ladder, checking it for traps as well, and finding none. The room downstairs is a kind of work room or store room- there's a desk, and a bunch of metal parts. It looks like broken or otherwise nonfunctioning pieces of the mechanical eyes you have seen so many of, but two of them look almost fine- one made of copper with a square eye, the outside smooth and spherical, the other steel and polygonal, and rather smaller with a tiny sapphire iris. The other parts aren't even close to assembled.

Keichi wonders why he's stuck holding all the stuff!

It's been 17 minutes, as that didn't take very long. What's next? The hidden door?

We'll take the mostly assembled eyes. The hidden door.

You're such an asshat.

I believe the intent here for doing this now is to get what loot we can and split it up so we don't spend all of that time splitting it.

Well, that and if you wait around long enough, maybe a dragon will come by with "reflective electricity" and "lengthen breath weapon" metabreath feats, and just start zapping open windows, and we can do ray geometry.

The hidden passage is sealed magically. You find no traps.

Reltharoof loot:

Proring +3- A decent ring. You'll probably give it to the bat or something.
Ring of Chromatic Resistance (6)- This ring has a small emerald, two colors of corrundum (blue sapphire and ruby), and a yellow diamond. It offers a resistance of 6 to all elemental damage, and does not stack with anything. If taken to a conceptual elemental source, the corresponding gem glows constantly, offering immunity to that element instead of resistance.
Pendant of ?- This steel pendant with a steel chain has some manner of crystal inside it. The real shocking thing is the fire contained in the crystal- it slowly flickers, ranging from red, to violet, to blue, to yellow. But mostly to red. This is shockingly powerful, especially for such an amateur, and under detect it glows brightly with divine fire magic. This is unquestionably a minor artifact, and likely the way Reltharoof had such dominion over fire elementals.
Woven shadow robe- This red on black robe is partially woven of the stuff of shadows. When worn it grants a +3 armor bonus to AC, a +2 shield bonus to AC, and a +1 resistance bonus to saves. Note that these, as always, don't stack with similarly named bonuses, so if you cast mage armor, shield, and have a proring of +2 or better, this robe does nothing for you. However, with those defenses down, it would offer some benefit.
+2 Pa Red Tura- This has the "elemental II" effect for fire, and is the equivalent of a +4 tura.

Weapons:
Masterwork Quarterstaff. This contained the tura listed above. It's crafted of some kind of white wood, and has decorative designs on it- mostly of small animals.

Scrolls:
Invisibility
See Invisibility x2
Mirror Image x2
Hold Portal x3
Spectral Hand
Fox's Cunning
Teleport
Major Image

Spell Components:
1250 GP worth of diamond dust

Potions:
Heal potion (100 hp)
Teleport: Ebon Citadel (x2)
Cure Light Wounds (1d8+5) x3
Haste x2

Wealth:
8 Platinum Pieces
142 Gold Pieces
102 Silver Pieces
78 Copper Pieces

One of the extra Prorings +3 to my bat would be awesome.

Someone needs to take that cloak, if for no other reason than to enjoy the +2 shield bonus to AC. I'm pretty sure the itchy robe I got from the mind flayer provides me with a shield bonus to AC. This probably needs to go to one of the tanks.

I'm really interested in this minor artifact pendant - not to necessarily keep for myself, but just to learn more about and see how it can benefit the party. We probably need to buy a Legend Lore casting, or maybe I can spend the money to find someone willing to let me copy it into my spell book.

Fuck sorry, it's not a cloak, it's a full robe. I'm fairly certain you can't wear a robe and then slap armor on top of it, but if you can for some dumb game reason, I'll just say it doesn't function. My bad about that, I'll fix it.

I very much doubt your spell book is singular at this point, even before running into this. By the way, I do want, at some point, a summary of where your spellbooks actually ARE and which spells are in each (much as I have for the NPC above). Note that most spellbooks are 100 pages long, and each spell takes CEILING[1,SPELL LEVEL] pages in your spellbook, and normally each page requires 100 gp in materials to inscribe. In my games, these same magical writing materials (magical inks, normally) can also be used for the creation of scrolls, and sometimes they will be available in limited ways (such as you've seen). The important part is, I need to know where your spellbooks are so I can confirm their destruction when you get disintegrated or something, and you can rue the day you chose to not make backups...

Legend Lore is definitely a good place to start.

I think the wizard is going to want to get himself a storage device for his spell books. I'm not sure if a handy haversack would be big enough right now.

I'll make an effort to combine the new loot into the previous cut at loot division later.

The big opening on a haversock should easily accomodate the spellbooks (8 cubic feet is 2x2x2, 2 cubic feet is 1x2x2). The question is, what ELSE do you have in there already? The normal limit on the haversack is that you can't put weapons much larger than daggers inside, and you can't exceed the weight limits (80, 20, 20). You have to track each one separately, but it's still worth it IMO.

You might've said "robe" in your original post. My early-morning brain could've just read it as "cloak". If it's indeed a robe, I'll compare it against my itchy robe and see which one I want to wear (I assume no one else wants the robe).

And you're right, I have two spellbooks going right now, and each is being kept track of separately and correctly. I've been paying for materials as needed, and/or deducting from the magical inks/whatever that we found in a previous lootz pile.

I will for sure provide a list of spells and books to you, and thanks for remidning me to ask Octessa if there's a Magician's Vault (TM) with safety deposit boxes for backup wizard spellbooks.

I'll consider making myself a separate Haversack out of the magical components we have....if I didn't do so already as my cut of that loot (I can't remember what else I made, aside from the gloves).

I absolutely did not say "robe", I said "cloak", which is why I mentioned editing it. Nothing is wrong with your eyes. Except that they sometimes spit venom when you squint, but I hear tale that this is common among the lowborn.

Glad to hear it, about the tracking- but you'll be multiplying your book load rather quickly. While it's not at all unusual to have 40 1st level spells, 30 second level spells, 25 third level spells, 10 4th level spells and be looking at a third spellbook and thinking "ok, plenty of room in this", the moment you start inscribing 5th and 6th level spells, shit tends to get crazy fast.

For mine, there's not much in there. Well, it's a long list, but primarily scrolls. A few potions, one spell book, non-quivered arrows, and one non-functioning mechanical eye. I'm nowhere close to the limit.

Indeed, and it's something that's been brewing in the back of my mind recently as we've been advancing in levels. I'll have to go back and check my sheet, though - didn't you give me a book that has 200 pages in it? Or maybe that was enough ink to inscribe 200 levels worth of spells. Playing a wizard for realz for the first time (i.e., with Scott not as the DM in 2nd ed) has my mind spinning a bit.

I'll work on updating my wizardly requirements at the next session. I'll show up a bit early so that I'm not using gaming time to accomplish this.

I told you there was homework to be a wizard, doofus. Does anyone listen to me? No, no one listens to me. They think I'm joking.

Try playing a 32nd level bard in 2nd edition. You need some serious organizational skills to be an insane asshole.

I did, in fact, give you a lesser blessed book- the stock one has 1000 pages, and requires no special materials to write a spell down (you just crayon that shit right up). The lesser one you have has, I think, 200 pages, and also requires no special materials to write a spell down. I think some of the pages were already used, however?

Yeah, sounds familiar. To my knowledge, I have the following:

- My original spellbook, 100 pages, used for 1st and 2nd level spells only
- The lesser blessed book, 200 pages, used for 3rd+ level spells only

I used the some of the inks to inscribe newer 1st and 2nd level spells into the original book. I'm pretty sure I didn't spend anything to inscribe spells into the lesser blessed book.

Ok, here is the full list of scrolls for Morgrim. I only grabbed a few, obviously.

Some of these may be more appropriate for the priest. I figured the Wisdom one, but that doesn't seem to be on here. Although... Is it the same "spell" if it is arcane versus divine? I don't know. I know it's the same effect, but is the scroll unchanged?

Anyway, this is the list of scrolls minus what I took. We can certainly discuss it if you have any objections to the ones I took.

Scrolls (some of these are in the extradimensional space- ones marked with an asterisk are available for your immediate use):
Mage Armor x8
Silent Image x5
Sunlit Vision x5 (this 1st level spell does nothing for non-Umbrans)
Glitterdust x2
See Invisible x3
Darkness
Spectral Hand x3
Rage x2
Blink
Frost Armor x3 (this 3rd level spell is +5 armor bonus to AC, and everyone who strikes in melee makes a fort save or their movement is reduced to half for two rounds. Also grants Resist Water as the spell Resist Elements. Target: Personal. Duration: 1 hour / level (5 hours on these scrolls) )
Dimensional Anchor x2
Scrying
Arcane Eye x12
Detect Scrying x3
Rope Trick x2
Secure Shelter x3
Fire Shield [Warm, Blue] x3
Fire Shield [Cold, Blue]x3
*Teleport x2
*Greater Invisibility
Mass Resist Fire x4
Mass Resist Water x5
Mass Resist Earth x2
Mass Resist Air x3
*Mneumonic Enhancer
Contact Other Plane
*Overland Flight
*Magic Jar
True Sight
Fabricate x4
*Antimagic Field
Wall of Iron
**Teleport Without Error (Greater Teleport)x2
Geas x2
Mass Eagle's Splendor
Mass Fox's Cunning x3
Eyebite
Disintegrate
Control Undead
Sequester
Magnificent Mansion x4 (notes specify extra invocations to make the liveried ghosts into "Voriphan women of appopriate tastes")
Binding (increase all calculated DCs by 4. Caster level 20)
Invisibility
Mirror Image x2
Hold Portal x3
Fox's Cunning

Wow, OK. So....

There are a lot of scrolls here. I assume that I don't want to be running around using my medium-size marker on the map, and then a huge-size marker behind me for my Wagon O' Scrolls. So what's the best course of action here? Put a bunch of them in the pot, and hold onto the ones that will best serve us in times of immediate need? I'm a little leery of keeping them all in the pot - you know those non-arcane casters, never paying attention to the delicacy of scrolls.

Also, am I able to copy from a scroll into my spellbook, thus "blanking" the scroll?
