I just realized I never did this.

On the 23rd day of Autumn's Reach, the party headed north from Irminsul by Badescoth and arrived in Old Flent. They learned the town itself was only about 80 years old, but a shrine to Leti was run by an ancient elf named Flent. The small village, seemingly centered around the shrine, had only one inn called Little Acorn. Though the acorn is the symbol of Leti, this shrine had the acorn sitting in an image of a thorny hand. Flent claimed he just liked it.

On the road again, the party stopped in Glarifel at the Blue Ox, and then on to Thornby. Thornby is a large city, the capital of Norwood, and they chose to stay at the Diving Griffon while looking to buy and enchance weapons. They met with a wizard, Corbens, and Johar, a weaponsmith.

They rode straight past Clarridence and camped the night of the 26th. They were beset by a party of orcs who had presumably made their way out of the wild lands to raid from the weakling humans. It seems the orcs must have had luck raiding against elves at some point given the very powerful bow that was somehow made to look like a natural branch with emeralds for leaves. Despite the odds, the rudely awakened party was able to defeat the orcs.

Arriving in Tarbert, the party discovered it was the headquarters of the Defenders of the Realm, a group of all sorts of humans who defend the realms of men against orcs, goblins, and fey creatures of all kinds. No one seemed too kind to the frost elf, but there was no trouble as she was accompanied by several other humans. The walls of Tarbert were very solid, and the city clearly prioritized functionality and defense over beauty. The party stayed at the White Shield.

The road along the edge of the Elfbone mountains took them through Glenegg, where they stayed in Alces's Blessing, and on to Kinver, where they found a mystery. Kinver was set on Sky Lake, a very large lake that is the source of the Wild River, the border between Munir and the wilds. Strangely, Kinver was deserted. Kinver was surrounded by walls, but the gates were left open. It did not appear to have been raided, and it seemed as though it was abandoned in a rather orderly fashion. Following tracks, the party located what appeared to be the entire population of Kinver several miles around the edge of the lake up on stony ground. People who live in Kinver are the sort of people who want to live on their own. They are on the outskirts of civilization, and this choice left them few options when they were beset by a Bulette that killed several citizens. The Bulette did not seem able to burrow through stone, which was why they were hiding out on the rock and in caves. Among the people of Kinver, one recognized Sir Alestair. It was Sir Percival Magennis, an old friend of Sir Alestair's father. With Percival, the party returned the town to lure out the Bulette. Their plan was successful, and a creature was killed just for being hungry.

The people of Kinver were lacking in resources, but they were very grateful. They provided what they could, and Sir Percival asked Alestair to stop by if they came through this way again.

The party left their horses and headed into the Elfbone mountains. Vindifinda was leading at this point as she had some idea of where Coura'Tor'Dara was, but the journey was difficult through the ice and snow. It was early winter, but this far north and high in the mountains, the footing was treacherous. They spotted a pair of trolls in the wilderness, but they decided to circle around them.

On the 12th day of Winter's Rise, Livid finally brought them to the very high entrance to Coura'Tor'Dara above the timberline on the north face of Mount Cloverfrost. The entryway was very defensible, though obviously it was unlocked and there were no defenders. The entire complex appeared to be inside the mountain.

In a grand dining room, the room where a group of frost elves once saw phantasms of humans, the party now found two ghosts... the ghosts of elves. There were two, and they appeared to be a lord and lady of elves. They were also exceedingly angry, particularly with Livid. The party managed to vanquish the ghosts, at least for a time, but the party took damage and needed to rest for a day. They set out again the next day and encountered three shadows. The cold of the shadows drained them of strength, but again the party was victorious with the grand efforts of Emile Dupont, Ghost Reslayer. They needed to rest quite a bit, and fortunately they were not attacked during their rest.

On the 15th day of Winter's Rise, the party prepares once more to explore Coura'Tor'Dara....

And for being Bulettey.

What's sometimes weird is sorting through my desk and finding papers with Thales Alenia Spazio and The Aerospace Corporation next to other papers that say Medium Shadows and Major Skeletons.

I'll see your "cool custom monsters" and raise you "stuff in faint graphite that was written when I was fourteen".

I'm not sure that one qualifies as a custom monster. I took the easy shadow and the hard shadow... and I averaged the numbers.

Well, I guess the skeletons are slightly custom in the sense that I just made them up as I went along. Having the strength of the skeleton determined solely by the race didn't work for this world, so I ignored that aspect of it.

The other custom piece was a quarter of them being generated with a two handed weapon and a shield :P
