So here is the design for the banner so let me know what you think.

Mike,

It's going to need a couple of tweaks to fit in with the theme. Basically, the border around the current banner area is part of the banner image itself. If I throw the new banner up as it stands, the border is going to disappear on the left and right.

I'll try to tweak it myself, but it may be beyond my rudimentary skillz - in which case I'll followup with you.

Ok.. I've had a first stab at it. However..

Mike, can you make a slight modification to the banner such that it fades out to the final purple/blue color on the right a little quicker (closer to the 'T' in hat) and accordingly make the image a little narrower with less dead space on the right (maybe cut the dead space after the 'T' by 30-50%). Make sure to use the exact same purple/blue color that you have on the absolute right side of the image now so that it blends perfectly with the image I have behind the search box.

The reason I suggest doing this is that currently there is an undesirable visual artifact when you narrow the browser window down past a certain point. I'd like to get that threshold a little narrower.

If you do this, could you grab the revised banner from the forum header and work on that so that I don't have to redo the lefthand border.

I think it looks pretty good anyway. :)

OK I can but the problem with that is the black on the last few letters virtually disappears if the dark purple is behind them. I see what you mean about the image when you resize the window but I really don't think its that big of a deal.

Well... maybe not worry about it then.

Is anyone else seeing the search field run off the side of the banner? On my home PC (IE) it's fine, on my work PC (IE) the search box needs to be either moved to the left or be shorter. On Firefox it looks fine on both machines.

I only run Firefox. It looks great to me.

Oh, and the die is cast. I have announced this on a D&D forum. Of course, that thread may already be deleted. We'll see.

Looks good to me, running IE7 both at home and at work.
